Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Two first period goals pushed the fourth-ranked Boston College woman's ice hockey team past Brown, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon in Meehan Auditorium. Sophomore Jackie Young had two points for the Eagles (10-4-1), who wrapped up a three-game ECAC slate versus the Bears (3-3-5).

Senior right-winger Danielle Welch broke a scoreless tie at 12:52 in the first period on passes from classmate Mary Restuccia and sophomore defender Meagan Mangene.

Freshman center Alex Carpenter added to the lead 17 seconds into power play that was awarded for goaltender interference at 16:03. Young and junior Dru Burns assisted the goal, as the Eagles went 1-for-3 on opportunities and extend their league-leading power play efficiency to .245 (15-for-62) on the year.

Brown capitalized on a 5-on-4 to cut the deficit to one, 2-1, when junior Alena Polenska' shot went top shelf at 2:28 in the second. The Eagles only allowed four shots on four penalties.

Within six minutes, Young's second goal in as many games provided the final score of the day, 3-1.
