New Haven, Conn. - Emily Field scored two goals of Boston College's three second period goals to lift the Eagles to a 5-0 victory over Yale to win the Nutmeg Classic Championship at Ingalls Rink in New Haven. The No. 5/6 Eagles improved to 8-3-2 overall, while Yale is now 2-10.

Field finished with two goals and an assist, while sophomore Alex Carpenter and freshman Dana Trivigno each had a goal and an assist in the win. Senior Blake Bolden added two assists. Senior goaltender Corinne Boylesrecorded her second straight shutout with 17 saves in the game. Yale's goaltender Jaimie Leonoff did all she could for the Bulldogs as she made 50 stops in the loss.

Boston College held an edge in the first period as the Eagles had 14 shots on goal to Yale's five. The Eagles scored the only goal of the period when sophomore Alex Carpenter struck at 2:54. It was Carpenter's 11th goal of the season and senior Blake Bolden was credited with an assist.

The Eagles put the game away in the second period when they scored three unanswered goals. Junior Taylor Wasylk gave BC a 2-0 lead at 9:48 with assists from Kate Leary and junior Meagan Mangene. Two minutes later, sophomore Emily Field would score her first of two goals on a feed from freshman Dana Trivigno and senior Ashley Motherwell at 11:15. Field extended the Eagles lead to 4-0 on a power-play goal at 15:46. After two periods, the Eagles held a 35-10 edge in shots.

Trivigno scored the only goal in the third period at 4:35. Motherwell and freshman Lexi Benderwere credited with assists on the Eagles fifth goal of the game. BC had 20 shots in the period, while Yale managed seven.

Alex Carpenter extended her point streak to 11 games (11-10-21) ... BC extends their unbeaten streak to nine games (7-0-2) and to best the longest unbeaten streak in program history ...
