The Eagles carried the play early in the first period as they recorded the first five shots on goal however the Bulldogs put together some offensive pressure on the BC net late in the period.  Bridgette Lacquette gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead at the 18:48 mark with a wrap-around that beat Eagles goaltender Megan Miller to the post.  Both teams came up empty on their power play chances as Minnesota-Duluth took that 1-0 lead into the locker room after 20 minutes.  BC held a 10-9 shots advantage after the first period of play.
