Boston College and Maine traded goals all night but it was the Black Bears who came out on top with a third period goal for a 4-3 win at Kelley Rink on Saturday, February 12.

BC falls to 19-6-5, 12-4-3 in Hockey East while Maine moves to 11-15-5, 5-11-3 in the league.

Maine opened up scoring 20 seconds into play, notching the tally off the initial faceoff. BC responded at 3:29 with a score from Danielle Welch, who netted the goal at the top of the crease off a pass from Kelli Stack.

BC and Maine traded goals again in the second, with BC taking a 2-1 lead after Blake Bolden scored at 1:57 on a power-play from far out on the left side off a cross-ice pass from Stack and Taylor Wasylk. Maine retaliated with a power-play goal of its own at 6:06.

Stack was able to give the Eagles a lead going into the final frame with a poke in from the right side. Alison Szlosek assisted on the goal.

Maine scored twice in the third to tie the game and then net the eventual game-winner at 14:24. Despite pulling Molly Schaus from goal, the Eagles were unable to score again.

Schaus stopped 18 shots in goal.

Next up, BC will face Harvard in the 33rd Annual Women's Beanpot Championship game on Tuesday, February 15 at 8:00 p.m.
