Burlington, Vt. – Junior goalie Corinne Boyles stopped 25 shots to pick up her fourth shutout of the year, as the fourth-ranked Boston College women’s ice hockey team defeated Vermont, 3-0, on Saturday evening at the Gutterson Fieldhouse.

Junior defenseman Dru Burns provided the eventual game-winner at 9:06 in the first period. The Plano, Texas native’s third career goal put the Eagles (16-6-1, 9-2-1 Hockey East) up, 1-0, off passes from forwards Caitlin Walsh and Melissa Bizzari.

At 11:19 in to the second, sophomore back-liner Jackie Young extended BC’s lead, 2-0. Classmate Taylor Wasylk and freshman Emily Field assisted the play for Young’s sixth goal of the season, fourth most in a single-season by an Eagles defenseman.
