Powers enters his fourth season as men's and women's assistant coach having been hired in the fall of 2004. This is Powers' first coaching job of his professional career.

Since 1995, Powers has been involved in teaching golf at the professional level. His winters from 1995-97 were spent at the Royal Poinciana Club in Naples, Fla. For those years, Powers summered on Cape Cod, working as an Assistant Golf Pro at the Oyster Harbors Club.

From 1998-2000, Powers served as Assistant Pro at the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. In 2000, he was promoted to First Assistant. Since then, he has worked at the Bear's Club in Jupiter, Fla. and the Oyster Harbors Club.

Power graduated in 1991 from Denison University, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He attended graduate school at Boston College and earned his Masters in Education in 2003.
