CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College field hockey graduate student Maike de Jager was named to the 2011 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Division I All-American Second Team, according to an announcement made on Monday.
de Jager, a native of Amsterdam, Netherlands, came to BC with international playing experience and became a mainstay in the Eagles lineup, starting every game in the midfield for the team in 2011. This honor comes shortly after de Jager was named to the NFHCA All-Northeast Region First Team.
This season, de Jager tallied one defensive save, along with six goals and one assist for 13 total points. The midfielder tallied her first points as an Eagle with two goals in the team's win against Quinnipiac on Sept. 2.
de Jager was one of 15 student-athletes from the ACC to earn All-American recognition.
