Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College Field Hockey team earned the fifth seed and will play four-seed Wake Forest at the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament, the league announced on Sunday. The two teams will square on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. with the winner taking on No. 1 seed North Carolina in the semifinals.
The tournament will be held in College Park, Md. No. 6 Virginia will play No. 3 Duke and the winner will go against No. 2 host Maryland. All quarterfinal action can be seen on a live video stream on theACC.com.
The Eagles compiled a 10-8 overall record during the season, 1-4 in the ACC. They dropped their final game, 1-0, to Wake Forest on Oct. 29. The Demon Deacons were 9-8 on the year, 2-3 in the ACC, earning the fourth seed.
Semifinal action will take place on Friday, Nov. 4 with the finals on Sunday, Nov. 6. The games will be televised on RSN. For more information about the ACC Tournament, visit www.theACC.com.
