Frano, Plasteras Named Eagles of the Week

Sept. 17, 2013

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Juniors Giuliano Frano (men's soccer) and Emma Plasteras (field hockey) were named Eagles of the Week for their performance on the field last week.

Frano played a part in both goals in BC's 2-1 comeback win at Pittsburgh on Saturday night. He assisted on Atobra Ampadu's equalizing strike in the 81st minute and then scored the game-winner with 1:05 remaining in the match. They were the first three points of his BC career.

Plasteras scored the game-winning goal for the No. 17 Eagles with nine minutes to play at No. 19 Boston University to break the scoreless tie on Friday night. She inserted the ball on the corner attempt and received it back from Romée Stiekema at the left post to put it off the pads of the Terriers goalie.

The men's soccer team (2-2-1, 1-1-0 ACC) hosts No. 2 Notre Dame on Saturday night at 7 p.m. while the field hockey team (5-1, 0-0) opens ACC play by hosting Syracuse on Friday at 4 p.m.
