Six Field Hockey Players Compete in Women's National Championship

College Park, MD - The Boston College women's field hockey team was well-represented at the Women's National Field Hockey Championship this past week. The tournament began on June 1 and was a round-robin tournament ending on Friday, June 8 with the final round of action.
Six BC players - Virgynia Muma (Jr., Falmouth, MA), Abby Bascetta (So., Granby, CT), Chapin Duke (Jr. Dedham, MA), Kara Mackintire (Sr., Shrewsbury, MA), Kati Orban (So., Plaistow, NH) and Sarah Hospodar (So., Wayne, PA) - as well as Eagles Head Coach Ainslee Lamb represented the New England team this week in College Park, Maryland.
"It's an honor to be chosen to play for New England in the tournament,'' said Eagles forward Virgynia Muma. "It is a great opportunity to play and compete with girls on my team and other teams in the area. This tournament prepares us for pre-season and competing against the best college competition there is.''
