Field Hockey Hosts Alumni Game
May 22, 2013
Newton, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team hosted former players back at the Heights on May 4 for the Annual Alumnae Game and Social at the Newton Campus Field Hockey Complex.
Former Eagles joined the current coaching staff on the field for a friendly game, followed by a tailgate. Families were also invited in to come.
"Going to back to campus with my teenage daughter reminded me why I choose BC back in 1983," Julie Ricciardi said. " Yes, the buildings have changed, the campus has grown and the field hockey field looked absolutely huge. But the connection to the very essence of BC remained: A wonderful community that recognizes the importance of developing the whole person. I am grateful for the education I received at BC and the opportunity to play field hockey. Thank you for bringing the alumni back and the opportunity to be reminded of my many blessings."
"It's always so nice connecting with former teammates and also meeting alums from older generations with such different experiences than the one I had from 2006 to 2009," Chelsey Feole said. "I think it's so important to keep alumni connections strong within any program. It makes everyone who played field hockey for BC feel like we belong to something that's uniquely just ours. It's an amazing bond that we can all connect, regardless of age. It was a really fun day and I look forward to meeting up with alums to catch a game together this fall to support the current team!"
