Field Hockey Holds Annual Banquet
April 23, 2014
Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team held its annual banquet on April 13 to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2013-14 season. Student-athletes, coaches, staff and families gathered together to celebrate the past season and honor the departing seniors - Chapin Duke, Hannah Mulvey, Virgynia Muma, Paige Norris and Nicole Schuster.
"The energy at the banquet was fantastic, which is a true reflection of the investment that every person wants to contribute to the success of each player in this program," head coach Ainslee Lamb said. "The banquet is a wonderful time for us to thank the many people who allow the players to excel on and off the field. The staff behind the scenes at BC is incredible and we are so fortunate to have them as a critical extension of the BCFH team."
The five seniors were presented with their framed jerseys and said their final thanks to the team.
"The banquet is a celebration for everyone's accomplishments but also a special time to thank the talented senior class. They will be missed on the Heights in 2014 but I am confident they leave here as invested in the future of this program as they were over the past four years," Lamb said.
"It was special having both Carla and Kara return to the Heights. They were extraordinary contributors to the team while they were here and I was thrilled to have them impact the current team and future of BCFH," Lamb said.
Mackintire presented freshman Alexa Brazauskas with the Senior Award, given by the senior class to a first-year team member who provides a positive contribution to the team's philosophy and whose individual character encourages the future direction and excellence of Boston College Field Hockey.
Tamer awarded junior Emma Plasteras with the Players Award, which is awarded by the team to the player who exemplifies a teammate, scholar and athlete, and who is a role model who contributes to all aspects of the program and accepts responsibility with tremendous pride and honor.
Associate head coach Kelly Doton presented Jacqueline Kelleher with the Coaches Award, presented by the coaching staff to a member of the team who exemplifies principles, direction and persistence in pursuit of field hockey excellence at Boston College.
All the Eagles who earned individual accolades through the season were also recognized throughout the night.
