Field Hockey Announces Spring Schedule

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team will play in six tournaments and scrimmages during the spring season in preparation for the 2014 season. The Eagles will play many of the teams they face during the regular season.
"We utilize our indoor practice time in the spring to focus on technical skills and the small facets of the game. The players have done a fantastic job of pushing themselves to improve and have been working hard in the weight room. I know they are looking forward to our first competition and finally getting to compete against someone other than a teammate," head coach Ainslee Lamb said.
The Eagles, who finished the 2013 season 12-8 and ranked 11th in the nation, will start the spring season with a game against at Northeastern on Saturday, March 29 at 11 a.m. On Sunday, they will host Providence at the Newton Campus Field Hockey Complex at 1 p.m.
BC will host five teams on Saturday, April 5 for a round-robin style tournament on Newton Campus, beginning at 9:35 a.m. Syracuse, Boston University, Providence, Northeastern and Massachusetts will all make the trip to the Heights to participate. Each game will be 30 minutes long.
Before scrimmaging Boston University at noon on Sunday, April 6, the team is participating in Walk MS Boston in honor of former player Kathleen Murphy '09. The walk starts from the BU campus.
The Eagles finish off their spring schedule with a tournament at Massachusetts on Saturday, April 12, where they will play the Minutewomen, along with Holy Cross, Northeastern, New Hampshire and Dartmouth.
The annual field hockey banquet will be on April 13.
