Six Field Hockey Players Earn NFHCA Academic Honors

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Six member of the Boston College field hockey team were named to the 2013 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, announced on Wednesday.

Seniors Hannah Mulvey, Virgynia Muma, junior Katlyn Soucy, sophomores Kelcie Hromisin and AshLeigh Sebia and freshman Audra Hampsch earned the honors, awarded to those who have obtained a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year.

On Tuesday, the Eagles were recognized by the NFHCA for their academic achievement as a team with the Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award, given to the top programs earning a 3.0 grade point average or above.

Mulvey is a four-time member of the NFHCA Academic Squad member. She is one of nine Atlantic Coast Conference players to earn the honor for four straight years. Muma earned the honor three times and is a two-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree. Hromisin, Sebia and Soucy also garnered the accolade last season.
