CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -
Two members of the Boston College field hockey team have been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Squad.
Sophomore Hannah Mulvey and freshman Sarah Hospodar are the recipients of the prestigious honor. Mulvey is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences and is majoring in economics, while Hospodar is currently undeclared in the Carroll School of Management.
"This accolade is an impressive accomplishment for both Hannah and Sarah," head coach Ainslee Lamb said. "Their commitment to the academic demands and expectations at BC is admirable. They both take tremendous pride in their work and how they represent both BC and the field hockey team in all of their endeavors. The work rate that helps them succeed in the classroom is also a consistent trait that is present on the field."
Mulvey is a two-time NFHCA award recipient.
In order to be named to the squad, student-athletes must have obtained a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2011-2012 academic year.
