Boston College Captures Title in Field Hockey Tournament
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior forward Andrea Durko (Briarcliff, N.Y.) scored three goals to lead Boston College to a 5-0 victory over LaSalle University in the championship game of the BC Field Hockey Tournament today at Alumni Stadium. Durko, who had a goal and assist in yesterday's victory over Southwest Missouri State, finished the two-day tournament with four goals and two assists. Durko now has 33 goals in her career.
The Eagles took a 1-0 lead just 4:15 into the contest on a Durko goal. It would be the only scoring in the first half. In the second stanza, the Eagles took command, scoring four times to cruise to victory, their second of the season. Sophomore Julianne Marrone (Holden, Mass.) added a goal and assist for Boston College. Marrone, a member of the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team last season, finished with three goals and an assist in the tournament.
In the consolation game earlier today, Fairfield University, led by a two-goal, one assist performance from junior forward Adrienne Williamson (Upper Saddle River, N.J.), defeated Southwest Missouri State, 4-0.
