BC, LaSalle Advance to Finals in BC Field Hockey Tournament

Chestnut Hill, Mass. -- Boston College and LaSalle University each advanced to the finals of the BC Field Hockey Tournament with victories today at Alumni Stadium.

In the opener, sophomore forward Julianne Marrone (Holden, Mass.) scored two goals as the Eagles raced out to a 3-1 halftime lead. Senior forward Andrea Durko (Briarcliff, N.Y.) added a goal and assist for the Eagles.

BC freshman goalkeeper Stacy Chichaski (Northampton, Mass.) stopped five shots in her first collegiate game.

In the nightcap, LaSalle scored two second-half goals to defeat Fairfield, 2-0. Holly Kosmalski (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Alisha Faller (Morgantown, Pa.) had the goals for Explorers.

Southwest Missouri State (1-2) will meet Fairfield (0-2) in tommorrow's consolation game, starting at 11 a.m. The championship match between Boston College (1-0) and LaSalle (1-1) will follow at 1:30 p.m.
