Fitzgerald Goal Lifts Boston College Past Stanford, 2-1

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior back Marion Fitzgerald scored off a penalty corner as time expired to lift 15th-ranked Boston College past Stanford, 2-1, at Alumni Stadium. The goal was Fitzgerald's seventh of the season and fifth in her last four games.

With the victory, Boston College improves to 9-5, while Stanford drops to 9-5.

Boston College's Andrea Durko scored her eighth goal of the season to open the scoring with 6:24 left in the first half. Stanford tied the score at one with 7:58 remaining in the contest as Carey Cloyd scored off an assist from Mallory Chambers.
