The Boston College field hockey team had its regular season come to a close with a 5-2 conference loss to Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C. at Kentner Stadium.

The loss will drop the Eagles to 13-5 (1-4 ACC) for the season, while the win will improve Wake Forest to 11-5 (2-3 ACC).

These two teams will play each other again in six days at the ACC Tournament. The Eagles will be the No. 5 seed in the tournament, while the Demon Deacons will be the No. 4 seed.

Wake Forest's Raisa Schiller scored the first goal of the game just more than two minutes into the first half to give Wake the early momentum.

The Demon Deacons took a two-goal lead after a Kim Romansky goal in the 15th minute of the first half.

Wake Forest took a 3-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Hilary Moore in the 30th minute.

Chelsey Feole scored the Eagles first goal of the game in the 47th minute off a penalty corner to cut Wake Forest's lead down to 3-1.

The Demon Deacons would ruin any hopes of a comeback attempt by BC as they added two more goals in the next 10 minutes of play to put the game out of reach.

Kate Gillis scored a goal in the closing minutes of the game for the Eagles.

Wake Forest outshot Boston College in the game 14-8.

Junior Janna Anctil's five game point streak ends as she did not register a point in the game.

The Eagles will play Wake Forest again in the ACC Tournament 4 vs. 5 game on Thursday, November 5. The game will be held on the campus of the University of Virginia at 1 p.m.
