Peter Souders Named Northeast Intercollegiate Fencing Conference Fencer of the Year

Peter Souders was named the Northeast Intercollegiate Fencing Conference Fencer of the Year in an announcement made by conference commissioner Dr. Eliot Lilien while five other BC fencers made all-conference teams.
Souders received the honor for the second year in a row. In earning the distinction for a second time, the senior saberman became the first individual to earn recognition as the NFC's Fencer of the Year in consecutive seasons. With 23 member institutions the NFC is the nation's largest collegiate fencing conference.
On the season, the Silver Spring, Md. native compiled a 29-0 record in conference play and recently competed at the NCAA National Championships at Ohio State.
Five other BC fencers also received all-conference honors. Chelsea Rosenbauer was named first-team women's sabre, Maria Schneeweiss second-team women's sabre, Cara Hall second-team women's epee, Ryan Western second-team women's foil, and Ryan Prince second-team men's foil.
