BC Fencing Opens Season at Brandeis

Dec. 9, 2013

Women's Epee had an outstanding performance on an otherwise disappointing day of competition for BC Fencing.  Junior Cara Hall lead the way, posting a 12-6 individual record against a field that included St. John's, Columbia, Yale, Cornell, Air Force and Johns Hopkins.  Hall and her fellow epeeists, sophomore Olivia Adragna and freshman Rene Bichette outscored five of the six epee squads they faced, including an 8-1 record against Columbia.  Bichette's 11-7 record included wins over Zsofia Fath and Alina Ferdman of St. John's, both 2013 NCAA qualifiers, and Columbia's Mason Speta, currently ranked 6th on the US Fencing Junior point standings

Sophomore Marney Krupat was 11-7 in sabre, while her two freshman squad mates, Carolyn Townsend and Jackie Bai, posted strong showings in their first day of collegiate dual meet competiton.

The Eagles return to action after the Christmas Break with a home meet at Boston College's Flynn Recreation Complex against Northeast Fencing Conference competition on January 25th.
