BC Fencing Concludes Season at NCAA Championships

Peter Souders and Chelsea Rosenbauer concluded Boston College's fencing season at the NCAA Championships hosted by Ohio State University with Souders winning 10 bouts and Rosenbauer claiming four victories at the event.

Souders, competing in the event for the fourth consecutive season, won 10 of his 23 bouts for a .435 winning percentage. The Silver Spring, Md. native finished 17th out of 24 competitors in men's sabre during competition held at Ohio State's French Field House and St. John Arena.

Rosenbauer, making her first appearance at the NCAA Championships, won four of her 22 bouts, and finished 21st out of 24 competitors in women's sabre while competing at the Columbus, Ohio event.

As a team the Eagles finished in a tie for 19th place alongside the University of North Carolina out of a group that included 25 schools.

The NCAA Championships marked the last collegiate event for Souders and Rosenbauer. Head coach Syd Fadner will also lose the services of seniors Brian Like, Michelle Gaglia, Gabriella Goode, and Molly Wolfe to graduation this spring.
