The Boston College women's basketball team will host Northwestern (5-0) on Wednesday night at Conte Forum in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the gate.

The Eagles (4-2) are coming off a 2-1 week as they defeated New Hampshire (64-59) and Portland (68-40), while losing to Sacred Heart (54-48).

Senior Kerri Shields led the Eagles in scoring last week as she averaged 15.2 points per game. She shot 48.1 percent (13-for-27) from the three point line in the three-game span. Freshman Nicole Boudreau averaged 13 points per game last week, while Kristen Doherty not only tallied her first double-double (13 pts., 12 rebs.) of the season vs. Portland, but was also named to the Seattle Thanksgiving All-Tournament team.


• This season Boston College will host Northwestern in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on Wed., Nov. 28 at Conte Forum. The Eagles will be returning from the two-game road trip prior to this game.

• Last season Boston College lost to Wisconsin, 58-50, on Nov. 30 in Conte Forum. BC was led by Shayra Brown with 11 points.

• BC is 2-2 in in the challenge. The ACC leads the challenge, 28-16.

• The Eagles have defeated Iowa (72-67, 2009) and Penn St. (113-104, 2010).

• In the first year of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge (2008), BC played at Minnesota. The Eagles lost, 80-60, despite 14 points from Mickel Picco, while Stefanie Murphy added 11 points.

• In the 2010-11 season, BC defeated Penn State, 113-104, in double-overtime on Dec. 2 at Conte Forum. Jaclyn Thoman had 25 points, while Stefanie Murphy notched a double-double (20 pts., 11 rebs.).

• Freshman Nicole Boudreau has made an immediate impact on the 2012-13 Eagles team. The rookie guard leads the team in scoring (13.5 ppg.) and is first in minutes played (34.8 mpg.). She is also second on the team in free throw percentage (10-for-11, 90%). Boudreau has notched double-figures in five of six games, including her career-high 22 vs. Holy Cross on Nov. 22.

• Boudreau is shooting 41 percent from the floor, 36 percent from the three-point line and is second on the team in steals with 11.

• Senior Kerri Shields has built a reputation as a long range shooter. The guard from Drexel Hill, PA made 13 of 27 attempts (48%) from the 3-poing line last week. She averaged 15.7 points in 32.7 minutes of play in games against UNH, Sacred Heart and Portland.

• This season, Shields tallied four three's vs. UNH and Sacred Heart. Her season high is five three's vs. Portland.

• She now has 187 career three-pointers, as she moves into sole possession of third on the all-time list at BC. She passed Amber Jacobs '04, who made 183 in her career. She needs 25 more three's to tie Cal Bouchard '00, who finished her career with 212.


• Junior Kristen Doherty became the second player on the roster to tally a double-double. The small forward had 13 points and a career-high 12 rebounds in the win over Portland on Nov. 24. It was her second career double-double.

Katie Zenevitch leads the Eagles with three double-doubles this season. She accomplished the feat vs. Boston University, BYU and New Hampshire. Zenevitch now has seven career double-doubles. She recorded one as a freshman and three in her sophomore season.

• Senior Kerri Shields is the only other player on the roster to have recorded a double-double. Shields accomplished the feat against Penn State in the 2010 ACC-Big Ten Challenge. She had 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in a double-overtime victory for BC.
