Jessalyn Deveny to Be Inducted Into Varsity Club Hall of Fame on Friday

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Eight of the finest athletes in Boston College history comprise the Class of 2013 were inducted into the Varsity Club Hall of Fame on Friday night at Conte Forum. The group was recognized at halftime of Saturday's football game against Army.
The athletes will be inducted: Mike Cloud '99 (football), Stalin Colinet '97 (football), Dick Cremin '65 (football), Jessalyn Deveny '05 (basketball), Ken Hodge Jr. '88 (ice hockey), Anne T. Kavanagh '81 (soccer), Chris Lambert '12 (baseball) and George Lermond '25 (track & field, cross country).
For women's basketball Deveny will be the 12th player in program history to be honored.
When Deveny graduated in 2005, she was fifth on the all-time scoring list (1,496) and 10th in rebounds (551). As a senior she was a preseason All-Big East selection and All-America candidate. Deveny was averaging 17.1 points and 5.2 rebounds a game before she suffered a season-ending injury on Feb. 2, 2005.
Deveny finished her career at BC with 76 double-digit scoring games; 25 times she scored 20 or more points and had one game when she scored 30 plus points. As a junior, Deveny was named the Big East Tournament Most Outstanding Performer for her 72-point, 19 rebound effort in four games as the Eagles won the Big East Tournament for the first time in history.
A four-time Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement honoree, Deveny, graduated with a degree in human development and received her master's in social work.
