Women's Basketball Signs Martina Mosetti
July 21, 2014
Chestnut Hill, MA - Martina Mosetti, a 5-foot-9 guard from Trieste, Italy, has signed a scholarship agreement to play basketball at Boston College, according to an announcement by head coach Erik Johnson on Monday afternoon.
"Marti will be a great addition to our back court. She is a versatile guard who can play multiple positions and fits perfectly with our style of play and with the fast-paced style of the ACC,'' said Johnson. "Marti is a dangerous scorer off the dribble and from the perimeter, and she can also direct our team and set up her teammates with quality scoring opportunities. Marti's work ethic and intelligence will help her contribute to our success on both ends of the court.''
Mosetti will enroll at Boston College in September 2014 and be eligible to play this upcoming season.
She will join a class that includes center Katie Quandt from Minnesota, guard Ashley Kelsick from California, guard Rachel Gartner from Connecticut and forward Ella Awobajo from Nigeria. The BC roster for the 2014-15 season stands at 15 as the Eagles also added Kailey Edwards, a junior, who played two seasons at Denver.
Mosetti averaged 25.2 minutes, 10.6 points, 2.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game for Famila Schio in Italy last season. She shot 44.5 percent from the floor and 75.7 percent from the foul line. Her season-high in the 2013-14 season was 26 points vs. Castel San Pietro and 14 rebounds vs. Costamasnega.
She attended high school at Niccolo Tron in Trieste and began playing basketball at Ginnastica Triestina before joining Schio two years ago.
