BC CAMP INFORMATION
Young basketball fans get ready for the summer of 2013. The Boston College women's basketball program has announced the dates for the 2013 basketball camp.
During the April vacation period the team will offer a four-day clinic from April 16th to 19th for campers grades 1-8. The four-day clinic will focus on teaching the fundamentals of basketball. There will be small and large group instruction from BC coaches and players. The camp will run Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m. till noon.
The program will also hold two sessions of Elite Camp. The dates are June 26th and June 27th. Each session will run from 4-9 p.m. Campers in grades 9-12 are welcome to attend and it is suggested they are playing at the varsity level. This camp will focus on intense skill development for elite, college-bound athletes. Each session will include individual and small group instruction by the Boston College coaching staff as well as feature demonstration from BC players.
This summer the Eagles will also host two sessions of day camp in July. The first session will run July 15th-July 18th and the second session will take place July 22nd-25th. Both sessions will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will be for all skill levels.
Campers are placed on teams according to their age and/or ability to rotate through station work, scrimmages and skill instruction throughout the week. Interactive lectures and fun games are included to help develop skills in areas such as ball handling, passing and shooting. Staff includes BC Women's Basketball coaches and players, a number of former BC players along with other Boston area coaches.
There will also be a team camp for any the high school or club level teams. The camp will run June 28th-June 30th. There will be both commuter and overnight options. Teams will compete in a round-robin tournament during the course of the weekend. Each team is guaranteed five games (5) culminating with tournament play on Sunday. There will be demonstrations from the BC Coaching Staff and current players as well as the highly competitive Special Situation Tournament.
