Boston College is coming off an 80-56 loss at No. 4 Duke University. It was the second time this season BC fell to the Blue Devils. The Eagles are 2-6 in the month of January. Tonight will be the only meeting between BC and NC State this season. The game will start at 7 p.m. and tickets are available at the door.
BC VS. NC STATE
This will be the 16th meeting between Boston College and NC State. The Wolfpack lead the overall series, 9-6.
BC has lost the last four meetings, including a one point loss at the ACC tournament on March 3, 2011. NC State has won five of the last six meetings.
The last win for BC over NC State was on Jan. 20, 2011. The Eagles Carolyn Swords led BC to a 77-67 win with 15 points and 19 rebounds. She became the first player in the program to pass the 1,000 rebound plateau. Stefanie Murphy added 14 points and had five boards. Then freshman Kristen Doherty had 12 points. That season the two teams played three times - two regular season games - which they split and the one point loss by BC in the conference tournament.

Kristen Doherty has reached double-figures in scoring in the last 10 games. Since ACC play began, Doherty is averaging 15 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. She led BC in scoring vs. Duke with 14 points, including hitting two three's and went 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Against UVA, Doherty went 8-for-8 from the foul line, setting a new career mark for most FT's made in a game. She is 12-for-12 from the foul line in two games. Doherty is second on the team in assists (2.7 apg). Against Wake Forest she notched a career-high 9 assists.
Kerri Shields, who led BC in scoring vs. UVA with 15 points, notched a career-high 11 rebounds in the win over Clemson on Jan. 13. Her previous high was 10 in a overtime victory over Penn State her sophomore season. She led BC with eight vs. Wake Forest on Sunday.
Kerri Shields (46) and Nicole Boudreau (45) are 1-and-2 in the ACC in 3-pointers made. Shields' is 60th in the country and Boudreau is 80th in the same category.
BC has made 131 three-pointers this season, 35 more than its opponents.
Red-shirt junior Tessah Holt is 11-for-11 from the foul line in the last three games.
The Eagles are 35th in the country in free throw shooting.
The Eagles are 34th in the country in 3-pointers made and 78th in 3-point FG percentage.
Katie Zenevitch is 33rd in the country free throw percentage.
