Boston College Defeats Towson University in Downtown Classic
ATLANTA, GA - Four players scored in double figures as Boston College defeated Towson University, 82-53, in the opening game of the Comfort Inn Downtown Classic in Atlanta, Georgia. The Eagles shot 56.9 percent from the field and outrebounded the Tigers, 39-27.
Boston College jumped out to a 27-15 lead and extended the advantage to 43-31 at halftime. The Eagles outscored Towson, 39-22, in the second half for the win. Whitney Steele
led all scorers with 24 points, connecting on 11 of 16 attempts from the field. Kim Beezer
netted a season-high 16 points (8-11 FG), and added four rebounds and six assists. Freshman Jamie Cournoyer
netted 12 points and pulled down six rebounds in 17 minutes of play. Cal Bouchard
added 11 points in the win, and junior center Allison Booth
grabbed nine rebounds.
