Women's Basketball Wins In Reebok Classic
Eagles Push Record to 2-0
The Boston College women's basketball team remained undefeated as they soundly beat the University of Texas 82-68 in game #2 of the Rebok Classic held at the Fleet center Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles were led by sophomore guard Cal Bouchard who was hot against UT with an impressive 32 points. Sophomore guard Alissa Murphy (17 points) and junior center Allison Booth (15 points) also scored in the double digits for BC. Booth was also hot on defense pulling down a team-leading eight rebounds and freshman center Jamie Cournoyer followed with six of her own.
The Eagles were well matched by the Longhorns in the first half, but came back from the break charging strong. After shooting only .367 in the first, the Eagles shot .571 in the second boosting their shooting percentage to .466 for the game.
UT forwards Edwina Brown (19 points) and Jaime Bailey (12), and guard Vanessa Wallace (11) led the Longhorns in scoring. Brown and Angela Jackson led the team in rebounds with 10 and eight respectively. UT shot .452 in the first, .444 in the second and finished the game .448.
