Boston College Cruises to 104-60 Win over Marist College
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Six players scored in double
figures for Boston College as the Eagles easily won their first
regular season game, defeating Marist College, 104-60. The 104
points tied the most points ever scored by Boston College in a
game. It was also only the third time in Boston College
women's basketball history that the Eagles scored over 100
points. The last time that the Eagles scored 104 points was on
December 12, 1990 when Boston College defeated New Hampshire,
104-76.
Boston College led throughout the game and 12 of the 13 players
scored in the contest. The Eagles led Marist, 43-27, at
halftime and outscored the Red Foxes 61-33 in the second half
for the victory.
Junior center Whitney Steele led Boston College with 20 points
and sophomore guard Alissa Murphy added 12 points. Sophomore
guard Cal Bouchard registered 11 points and dished out eight
assists, and junior center Allison Booth netted 11 points.
Junior forward Paula Bacso scored 10 points and pulled down 10
rebounds and senior guard Aimee McGuire netted 10 points.
Boston College now has a 1-0 record and Marist drops to 0-1.
The Eagles will play No. 24 Texas on Sunday, November 23, in
the Reebok Classic at the FleetCenter.
