Boston College Women's Basketball Wins Exhibition Game

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Boston College rallied from a 10-point deficit to defeat Uralmash-Ural Mountains, 67-62, in a women's basketball exhibition game at Conte Forum tonight. Three Boston College players scored in double figures, led by junior center Whitney Steele's 14 points. Sophomore guard Cal Bouchard netted 13 points and led the team with nine rebounds, and junior forward Paula Bacso added 10 points for Boston College.

Elna Pshikova scored 21 points in the first half to give Uralmash-Ural Mountains a 38-30 lead at halftime. Uralmash extended its lead to 14 points in the opening minutes of the second half. With 8:29 remaining in the game, the Eagles went on a 14-4 run and tied the contest at 62-62. Bacso gave the Eagles their first lead since the opening minutes of the game on a jumpshot with 1:27 left in the game. Bouchard connected on one free throw, and sophomore guard Alissa Murphy added two free throws in the closing seconds of the game to give the Eagles the victory.

Pshikova finished the game with 32 points and 10 rebounds to lead Uralmash-Ural Mountains, and Natalia Gavrilova scored 23 points and added seven rebounds. The Eagles will open the regular season at home against Marist on November 20 at 7:00 p.m.
