BC Defeats St. John's, 64-49

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Three players scored in double figures to lead the Boston College women's basketball team to a 64-49 victory at Conte Forum, in the final regular season game. The victory was the Eagles' second over the Red Storm this season.
Boston College jumped out to a 16-6 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game. The Eagles extended their lead to 18 points with a 12-4 run and had a 28-10 lead with 4:24 remaining in the first half. St. John's shot only 21.2 percent (7-33 FG) in the first 20 minutes, and trailed the Eagles, 28-15 at intermission.
The Red Storm rallied in the first eight minutes of the second half, closing the Boston College lead to 33-28 on a LaTricia Gunnells' three-point field goal with 12:35 remaining in regulation. Boston College regained control of the game and built a 16-point lead in the closing minutes to secure the win.
Sophomore guard Cal Bouchard led the Eagles in scoring with 16 points and sophomore Alissa Murphy added 12 points and seven rebounds. Junior forward Paula Bacso netted 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. Senior Kim Beezer pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds in her final game at Conte Forum. Gunnells led St. John's with 13 points and Cristina Jorif registered a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Boston College finished the regular season with a 16-10 overall record and a 11-7 mark in the BIG EAST Conference. St. John's dropped to 6-20 overall and 4-14 in the BIG EAST.
