SYRACUSE, N.Y.-Boston College lost its second consecutive game on Wednesday night, as Syracuse defeated the Eagles, 64-56. The loss dropped the Eagles record to 12-7 and 7-4 in the BIG EAST Conference.
Boston College shot only 28.6 percent (8-28) from the field in the first half and trailed Syracuse, 25-24, at halftime. The Eagles opened the second half with a 7-0 run and led the Orangewomen, 31-25, with 17:13 left in the game. Syracuse bounced back with a 12-4 run and regained the lead for good with 9:52 remaining in regulation.
Jakia Ervin led Syracuse with 13 points and eight rebounds and Raquel Nurse added 12 points and seven rebounds. The Eagles shot only 33.9 percent and were outrebounded 46-38. Three Boston College players scored in double figures, led by Cal Bouchard's 18 points. Alissa Murphy netted 17 points and grabbed six rebounds and Whitney Steele added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles.
