NEWARK, N.J. -- The Boston College women's basketball team was selected to finish third in the BIG EAST 6 division in a preseason poll of the league's head coaches. The University of Connecticut and Rutgers University were selected to win their respective divisions.
In the BIG EAST 6, Notre Dame was predicted to finish second, followed by the Eagles. The University of West Virginia, Villanova University, and St. John's University rounded out the division in the preseason poll.
The Eagles return four starters from last year's team that finished one victory short of tying the best record in school history. Head coach Cathy Inglese led Boston College to an 18-10 overall record and a 13-5 mark in the BIG EAST Conference. The Eagles finished third in the BIG EAST 6, behind NCAA Tournament participants Connecticut and Notre Dame.
