No. 27 WXC Ties for Fourth; MXC Finishes 12th at NCAA Northeast Regionals

Madison, Conn. - The No. 27 women's cross country team finished in a fourth place tie with Harvard (150 points) out of 37 teams at Hammonassett State Park in Madison, Connecticut on Friday.  The men bettered their 14th place finish from last season with a 12th place finish this year, their best finish at the Regionals since 2006.

Jillian King (20:01.2) and Liv Westphal (20:19.2) continued their stellar seasons with fifth and 13th overall finishes at the event as well as setting personal records for a 6K course. Junior Morgan Mueller placed third on the team and also set a personal record with a time of 20:50.7.

Bridget Dahlberg (21:11.4) and Allison Stasiuk (21:12.2) rounded out the top five for the Eagles as they hope to take one of the 13 at-large bids to be announced no later than Monday night.  The 2012 NCAA Championships will take place in Louisville, Kentucky on November 17.

Providence and Connecticut were the top two teams and each punched their ticket to the NCAA Championships with automatic bids.  Abbey D'Agostino from Dartmouth was the top individual finisher with a time of 19:51.1.

On the men's side, the Eagles recorded their best finish at the Regionals since 2006, finishing 12th out of 34 teams (408 points).

Jordan Hamm (31:35.1), Louis Serafini (31:44.2), Anthony Bellitti (31:56.9), Jack Linehan (32:28.4), and Tyler King (32:43.0) all set personal records at the 10K course on Friday.  Serafini was a top two finisher for BC on five occasions this season.

Iona and Columbia punched their tickets to the NCAA Championships with Iona's Mitch Goose finishing first overall at the event with a time of 30:04.5.

The women's season concludes, pending an NCAA at-large bid, with six top five finishes this season.  The men will compete at the IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx should they not receive an at-large NCAA bid.
