Cross Country Runs at Roy Griak Invitational

Senior Angie Graham (Pickering, Ontario) finished sixth and senior Brian Shafer (Litchfield, Conn.) finished 14th to lead the men's and women's cross country teams at the Roy Griak Invitational held in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The women placed 11th in the 18 team field. The Eagles placed three runners in the top 50. After Graham crossed the line, the next Eagle to finish was freshman Katie Ryan (Elmira, NY) in 30th place. Sophomore Shannon Smith (Fairport, NY) followed in 43rd place for Boston College.

The men fared well at the meet, placing 10th in a field of 21 college teams. Shafer was the first Eagle to cross the line, followed by junior Marshal Armitage (Burlington, Ontario) in 30th place. Close behind Armitage was sophomore Justin Burdon (Niagara Falls, Ontario) in 34th place.

Both the men's and women's teams are idle next week in preparation for the Murray Keating Invitational in Orono, Maine on October 10.
