MXC Recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for Second Straight Year

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – The Boston College men’s cross country team was named a 2011 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team on Wednesday. This is the second consecutive year the Eagles have received the honor.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, the squad must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
The Eagles all ran personal bests at the 2011 Northeast Regional, taking 14th place with 418 points, their best since 2007.
A total of 147 schools from 30 conferences earned All-Academic stats. Boston College is 1-of-7 ACC members to be recognized for its academics.
The BIG EAST led all conferences with 11 institutions picking up awards, followed by the Big 12 with eight nods.
