MXC Races at Iona Meet of Champions

Bronx, N.Y. -The Boston College men's cross country team finished 12th out of 20 teams at the Iona Meet of Champions on Saturday. The Eagles finished with a team score of 344, and the top five runners for BC were separated by just 42 seconds.

Senior Anthony Bellitti took the top spot for the Eagles, crossing the line at 26:49, good for 55th overall in the field of 210 runners. Junior Brian Wolff took second for BC with a time of 26:58 and finished 67th. The top five was rounded out by juniors Tim Ferris (27:20), James Newhouse (27:21) and Richard Lucas(27:30).

Iona won the meet with a team score of 37, with each of its top five runners finishing in the top 12.

The Eagles will compete next at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on October 5. The men's race will begin at 11:00 a.m.
