James LaGreca marks one of ten BC top performances Saturday

New Haven, Conn. - The Boston College men's track team registered 12 top-five individual performances, placing fourth overall out of 10 teams at Southern Connecticut State's Owl Invitational Saturday.

Among those, two BC athletes took first place in their respective events. Senior Jeremy Zagorski won the 1500 race in a time of 3:59.02. Fellow senior Adam Moitoso topped out in the 5000 run, marking a time of 15:19.59.

Other top-five finishes included freshman Mark Domaracki in the 400 (fifth, 50.57), junior James LaGreca in the 1500 (fifth, 4:03.02) and junior David Emerson in the 5000 (15:25.45) and freshman Ian Thomas in the 400 meter hurdles (fourth, 58.18). For the 800, freshman Andrew MacIsaac (second, 1:56.72) and junior Brendan Collins (third, 1:56.76) placed. The 4x400 relay squad consisting of Domaracki, sophomore Brendan Gaffney, senior Ryan Henry and junior Sebastian Mansson placed third in 3:30.90. Freshman Conor Shelly took fifth in the high jump (1.85m), wrapping up the team's top performances on the day.

 

 

Rhode Island placed first overall, while host SCSU placed second and Yale took third.

The Eagles will continue competition at the Stonehill Invitational held on Saturday, April 5. Events will begin at 11 a.m. in Easton, Mass.
