Men's Track & Field Places Fifth At Skyhawk Invitational

EASTON, Mass. - The Boston College men's track and field team finished in fifth place in the Skyhawk Invitational hosted by Stonehill College on Friday.

Stonehill won the event with 157 points while Boston University (127.50) and Bryant (113.50) rounded out the top three. Harvard finished ahead of BC with 99 points while the Eagles finished with 73.

Freshman Joseph Arquillo earned 10 points by winning the 3000m steeplechase with a mark of 10:06.74.

Three Eagles earned points in the 5000m led by freshman Brian McDavitt who finished third at 15:23.14. Sophomore Nicholas Denari took seventh with a time of 15:36.74 while freshman Michael Stephens placed behind him at 15:38.86.

Senior Jack Hennessy took second in the 400m dash with a time of 49.48 and finished just 0.30 behind the winner. Freshman Darren James took third at 49.75.

Sophomore Ryan Cooney finished third in the 800m with a mark of 1:55.10 while sophomore Tom Hennessy was sixth at 1:55.92. Junior Collin Fedor placed second in the 1500m with a time of 3:51.69.

Freshman Adedeji Fajana took third in the long jump with a mark of 6.42m and freshman William Maguire finished seventh in the javelin at 47.62m. Junior Daniel Ashenden placed eighth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.33.

The 4x100m relay team took second place in the event with a time of 43.11 while the 4x400m team took third at 3:28.18.

The Eagles will now prepare for the New England Championships on May 9-10.
