Raleigh, N.C. - The Boston College track and field team wrapped up the Raleigh Relays on Saturday at Paul Derr Track on the campus of North Carolina State University. The Eagles posted seven New England qualifying standards, including two each in the steeplechase and 5,000-meter run.
Junior Jordan Hamm took eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a 9:23.38, followed by sophomore Anthony Bellitti in 14th at 9:36.57.
Freshman Richard Lucas led the Eagles contingent in the 5,000-meter completion, pacing the squad with a 14:59.01 to finish in third of section four. Junior Louis Serafini was the only other Eagle to post a regional qualifier, coming around in 15:00.03 for 18th in section three. Senior Jack Shannon (15:06.30) took sixth in section four, junior James Glover (15:34.37) and senior Akash Chougule (15:37.78) rounded out the unit.
Sophomore Kellen MacDonald had his hand in two qualifying marks. The Falmouth, Maine native turned in a 1:53.40 half mile time and anchored the 4x400-meter relay in 3:18.39. Senior Brian Smith led off for the relay, passing to sophomores Connor O'Neill and Jack Hennessy.
The final New England standard came on the heels of Collin Fedor, Tim Ferris, Nahed Lakkis and Pat Daly in the 4x800-meter relay at 7:50.06.
Fedor delivered the team's fastest 1,500 meter time. Running a 3:54.40 in section two, the Wheaton, Ill. product edged junior Jack Linehan came in at 3:54.96 in section three, Ferris ran 3:56.28 in the third heat and Brian Wolff turned in a 4:03.16.
Individually, senior Kellen Foley ran the 100-meter dash in 11.28 and freshman Greg Malloy concluded the 10,000-meter run in 32:42.40.
In other relays, the 4x200 meter relay run by Smith, Hennessy, O'Neill and Foley took ninth in 1:30.90. Lakkis, Daly, Wolff and Joseph McConaughy teamed up to run a 16:28.70 in the 4x1500 meter relay.
