Hamm's Second Place Finish Highlights IC4A Championships

BOSTON – The Boston College men’s track team, led by Jordan Hamm’s second place finish in the mile finals, concluded its indoor season at the IC4A Championships this weekend at the BU Track and Tennis Center in Boston.

Jordan Hamm’s strong performance in the mile netted him a second place finish, just .24 seconds behind the winner Will Geoghegan of Dartmouth.  Hamm’s mark of 4:05.95 was a career best and the seventh fastest indoor mile time in team history. 

Senior Jack Linehan also recorded a career best in the mile (4:08.84), good for a 13th place finish at the event.  The native of Crested Butte, Colo., smashed his previous best mile time of 4:15.91 set at last season’s BU Valentine Invitiational.  Also competing in the 1000m, Linehan finished 19th overall with a mark of 2:30.02.

Freshman Tom Hennessy finished 20th overall in the 1000m with a mark of 2:30.23 while sophomore Timothy Ferris also competed in the event – finishing 24th with a time of 2:31.69.

Joseph McConaughy (4:13.69) and Collin Fedor (4:14.21) also competed in the mile – finishing 25th and 29th respectively.

The quartet of Richard Lucas, Jack Hennessy, Patrick Daly, and Anthony Bellitti wrapped up the event for the Eagles with a 13th place finish in the Distance Medley Relay (10:02.97).

Boston College will open up the outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays on March 29.
