Men's Track and Field Finishes Third In Battle of Beantown

    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College men's track and field team finished third at the Battle of Beantown held at Harvard's Gordon Indoor Track. The 4x800m relay team set the meet record in the event in its win.

    BC finished behind Harvard which won the meet and then Northeastern who took second. Boston University finished fourth.

    Sophomore Ian Thomas took home the crown in the 800m with a winning time of 1:55.53. Sophomores Andrew MacIsaac (1:57.07) and Kristopher Haynes (1:58.76) both scored in the event as well, finishing fourth and sixth, respectively.

    The 4x800m relay team picked up the other win for the Eagles with a meet record time of 7:50.27, 10 seconds better than last year's standard. The 4x400m team took second with a mark of 3:21.95.

    Freshman Kellen Foley finished fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 23.32. Sophomore Mark Domaracki took second place in the 400m by clocking in at 49.51 and junior Brendan Gaffney finished in fifth with a time of 50.62.

    Sophomore Tyler Archer delivered a strong performance in the 500m with a time of 1:06.24 which was good enough for fourth.

    Junior Kevin Floster finished sixth in the 1000m run with a time of 2:35.28 while sophomore Philip Woerner took fifth in the 3000m by clocking in at 8:42.79.

    BC had four point scorers in the mile with senior Timothy Ritchie leading the way who placed second at 4:13.37, just .14 seconds off the pace. Senior James LaGreca (4:17.80), senior Brendan Collins (4:17.91), and sophomore Michael Keebler (4:17.97) took third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.

     

     

    Freshman Jon Bogosian cleared 1.84m in the high jump which put him in a tie for sixth place. Classmate Matt Adetula finished third in the long jump (6.58m) and the triple jump (12.35m). Bogosian finished right behind him in the triple jump at 12.08m.

    The Eagles will compete in the BU Valentine Invitational next Saturday.
