BOSTON – Senior Jon Bogosian cleared 1.98 meters (6-6.0 ft.) and the 4x400-meter relay hit the tape in 3:22.53 for a pair of first place finishes, leading the Boston College men’s track and field team at the Boston University Multi-Team Meet on Thursday night.
The relay composed of Joseph Stuart, Kellen MacDonald, Connor O’Neill and Jack Hennessy posted one of five New England qualifying times and earned nine of BC’s 55 points in a fifth place team outing.
Stuart also posted a regional qualifier of 22.71 in the 200-meter, picking up two points. The Shipman, Va. native added one more tally in the 400-meter with a time of 50.56, while Hennessy led the Eagles by taking fifth place for two points in 50.37.
Junior Louis Serafini wrangled in an 800-meter New England qualifier with personal record of 1:55.50, finishing in second place for five points. MacDonald added three points with a fourth place finish, setting a PR of 1:56.98.
Boston College’s remaining qualifying times came from a pair of freshmen in the 1000-meter run. Pat Daly rounded the track in 2:28.06 to take second and Collin Fedor came in at 2:29.82 for fourth place.
Junior Matthew Adetula, as well as rookie Jon Vaughn, added five points to the team score. Adetula leapt to 6.65m (21-10.0 ft.) in the long jump, while Vaughn busted out a 7.12 in the 60-meter dash and
Freshman Anthony Tripodi turned in a 1:09.32 in the second heat of the 500-meters, scoring fifth overall for two points.
Junior Akash Chougule registered a point with a sixth place finish in the 3,000-meter run at 8:59.41.
Freshman Richard Lucas also tallied a single point in the Mile. The Glendale, Calif. native paced BC with a 4:19.59 for sixth place. Sophomore Joe McConaughy was right behind with a big PR of 4:19.92, while James Glover (4:20.43) and Chougule (4:24.56) turned in competitive times in their first indoor mile as well.
The Eagles will be off until competing in the Boston Indoor Games and the BU Terrier Classic on Friday and Saturday of next weekend.
