Men's T&F Takes Sixth at Dartmouth Relays

HANOVER, N.H. – The Boston College men’s track and field team started 2014 with a sixth place finished at the 45th annual Dartmouth Relays. The Eagles posted a team score of 25 at the meet Sunday morning.
BC saw most of its points come in the 800 meter run, as three Eagles finished in the top five among collegiate runners. Junior Tim Ferris hit the line in 1:58.93, good for second place and eight points. Sophomore Tom Hennessy finished third in 1:59.66, earning six points. Freshman James Zingarini took sixth with a time of 2:00.48, and added two points to the team score.
The Eagles received another eight points from the 4x800 team of Tom Hennessy, Collin Fedor, Tyler Hanson and Tim Ferris. The team of four took third in the race, placing behind Dartmouth and the BC ‘B’ team of Patrick Daly, James Zingarini, Ciaran Murphy, and Robert Somary (8:00.86).
Senior Anthony Belitti also turned in a strong performance, taking nine place in the mile with a time of 4:24.14.
Dartmouth won the meet with 120 points, South Carolina State took second (113 points) and Havard finished third (74 points).
Boston College will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 18 for the Battle of Beantown at Harvard in Cambridge, Mass.
