After the 2006-07 track and field season, Mellea now holds the Boston College record for fastest one-mile. Running against a field of over 125 at the Boston University Invite, Mellea came in second with an astonishing time of 4:03.26. This mark betters the 4:04.60 time set by former Eagle Tom Horton at the 1980 New England Championships. Mellea also holds the fifth-fastest time in the 3000-meter run.

AS A JUNIOR (2006-07)
(Indoor) At the Boston University Multi Team Meet, placed a team-best second-place in the 1000-meter run, finishing in 2:26.54...At the St. Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University, took second place in the one mile run, clocking a 4:03.26, marking the fastest one-mile time in Boston College history...Marked a seventh place finish in the 3000-meter run at the ACC Championships, running in 8:23.22...also helped his team to a third place finish in the distance medley (Outdoor) Ran the 10,000 meter at the Northeastern Spring Open in 31:53.93...at the New England Championships, placed first in a field of 29, clocking a 14:32.90 in the 5000, also ran the 1500 in 3:57.09, ran the last leg of the 4x800 meter relay, helping BC to a fourth place finish...at Brown's Springtime Invitational, placed second overall in the 1500, crossing in 3:46.87...clocked a 14:12.92 in the 5000 at the Stanford Invitational...finished sixth in the 1500 at the ACC Championship, crossing in 3:49.67...placed first in the 1500 at UMass's Spring Meet with a time of 3:49.55

AS A SOPHOMORE (2005-06) (Indoor) Took first place in the mile with a time of 4:14.75 and the 1,000 against Harvard...won the 1,000, crossing in 2:28.33 seconds at the Boston University Tri-Meet...placed first in the 800 and 1,000 with times of 1:58.85 and 2:36.97 at the UNH Invitational...claimed victory in the mile, crossing in 4:11.86 at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games...at the ACC Championship, finished sixth in the mile at 4:11.67...placed 12th in the mile, crossing in 4:12.16 at the IC4a Championship (Outdoor) Won the 5,000 run in a time of 14:43.82 at the SCSU Invitational...Placed ninth and recording a team-best 14:32.71 in the 5,000 at the ACC Championship...Finished eighth in the 1,500 at the New England Championship and was member of the 4x800 relay team that finished fifth, crossing in 7:59.50

AS A FRESHMAN (2004-05)
(Indoor) Ran a 1:52.3 lead off leg on the BC school record setting 4x800-meter relay that ran 7:30.43 at the IC4A Championships... led off in the 1,200 meters on the distance medley relay that earn All-Big East honors...finished fourth at the New England Championships in the mile in 4:11.24...also ran 2:28.13 in the 1,000 at the Terrier Cup at Boston University. (Outdoor) Won the 5,000 at the UNH Wildcat Invitational in 14:53.91...finished third in the 800 at the Brown Invitational in 1:53.3...led off the distance medley relay with a stellar 1,200 leg at the Penn Relays...ran a 3:52.83 in the 1,500 at the Northeastern Invitational to qualify for the Big East Championships...ran the leadoff leg on the 4x800 relay that set a championship record at the New England Championships.

BEFORE BC
Was the New Jersey Indoor Parochial State Champion in the 800 and placed third in the 800 at the New Jersey Indoor Meet of Champions...personal best in the 800 is 1:55.6 and 4:18.6 in the mile.

PERSONAL
Born February 7, 1986...enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences as a finance major...Patrick is the oldest of Linda and Pat Mellea's two children.
