CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Freshman Alexandre Thirouin has earned ACC Men's Tennis Player of the Week recogniton for the week of Feb. 18-24, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Tuesday.

In his first dual match as a collegiate player against Hartford on Saturday, Thirouin went 2-0. A resident of Houston, Texas for the last seven years before arriving at BC, Thirouin won on court No. 5 in singles, 6-3, 6-0, over Luis Montes and also earned an 8-2 victory in doubles with partner Klaus Puestow over Montes and Alex Holdstein on court No. 3.

A mid-year enrollee originally from France, Thirouin helped the Eagles achieve their fourth sweep in six matches this season. With the win over the Hawks, BC improved to 4-2 overall and 4-0 at home.

Boston College plays Brown tonight at the Dedham Health & Athletic Complex in Dedham, Mass., at 7 p.m.
