Men's Tennis Falls to Georgia Tech, 6-1

Sophomore Philip Nelson and junior Michael McGinnis teamed to defeat a nationally-ranked doubles pair, but Boston College fell to Georgia Tech, 6-1, at the Dedham Health & Athletic Complex in Dedham, Mass., on Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles (5-8, 0-3 ACC) lost the other two doubles matches to the Yellow Jackets (8-10, 1-4 ACC) to concede the doubles point before dropping five of six singles matches.

Nelson and McGinnis beat the ITA's 51st-ranked doubles team, Juan Spir and Eduardo Segura, 8-6 on court No. 1.

Freshman Kyle Childree won his first career ACC match as he picked up BC's lone singles victory with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Garrett Gordon on court No. 5.

Next, Boston College plays Virginia on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Manchester Athletic Club in Manchester, Mass.
