No. 20 San Diego Tops Men's Tennis

San Diego, Calif. - The Boston College men's tennis team was defeated by No. 20 San Diego, 7-0, on Friday evening at Hogan Tennis Center.

The Eagles (4-8, 0-3 ACC) were pitted in three matches against ranked Torero (10-2, 1-0 WCC) opponents.

On No. 1 doubles, junior Akash Muppidi and sophomore Billy Grokenberger fell to No. 19 doubles partners Dean Jackson and Patrick Pohlman, 8-3.

Muppidi faced Jackson in singles play as well, falling to the 30th-ranked player, 6-1, 6-3, on No. 1 singles.

Senior captain Erik Kreutzer lost to 82nd-ranked Clarke Spinosa on No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-0.

BC will be off until traveling to Durham, N.C. on March 25 to meet Duke at 3 p.m.
