Men's Tennis Defeats Westmont College, 5-2

Junior Michael McGinnis won matches in singles and doubles to help lead Boston College past Westmont College of the NAIA, 5-2, at the Abbott Tennis Courts in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles (5-4, 0-0 ACC) took four singles matches and won the doubles point against the Warriors (5-5, 4-1 GSAC) who are ranked No. 5 in the NAIA.

McGinnis teamed with sophomore Philip Nelson to win on court No. 1 in doubles and earned a singles victory on court No. 2.

Senior Klaus Puestow and freshman Alexandre Thirouin picked up a victory on court No. 3 in doubles.

Freshman Kyle Childree, sophomore Matt Wagner, and senior Billy Grokenberger won singles matches on court Nos. 3, 4, and 5 respectively.

Next, Boston College plays UC Santa Barbara on Friday at 11 a.m. ET.
